Introducing Plasma Pen MD
A non-invasive treatment that delivers surgical like results! Fibroblast skin tightening or plasma pen technology is a new treatment to the aesthetic industry that has quickly become the go to nonsurgical treatment for effectively diminishing the appearance of wrinkles, loose skin, and blemishes.
As we age, collagen and elastin production in our body starts to decrease – even at the young age of 20, the dermis layer of our skin is producing 1% less collagen every new year. When you stimulate these fibroblasts, they spring into action – repairing tissue damage and recreating collagen.
Fibroblast treatment can:
- Encourage the formation of a new skin surface
- Improve the elasticity and suppleness of the skin
- Stimulate the production of your own human growth factors
What, exactly, does the Plasma Pen MD treatment entail? It effectively takes advantage of the fine layer of ionized gas, or plasma, that exists along the surface of your skin. The treatment targets and improves the appearance of deep-set creases, areas of loose skin, as well as scars and lesions by heating the skin with a small electrical charge. Surprisingly, the tool never touches the skin directly – the Plasma Pen MD emits energy that instantly sublimates a precise spot on the treatment area. The plasma energy lightly ablates the skin and stimulates your own natural healing process. A sealed wound is created, while shock is delivered to the tissue below to stimulate fibroblast activity which stimulates collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid to reveal younger, healthier, and clearer skin.

What areas can be treated with the Plasma Pen MD?
The most popular areas to treat are lines around the eyes (both upper and lower), lines around the mouth (peri-oral), jawline, and neck. The treatment can also be effective when treating, excess upper eyelid skin, crow’s feet around the eyes, skin imperfections – such as skin tags and sunspots, acne scars, stretch marks, and other scars, jowls & jawline tightening, neck lines or “turkey neck”, and “smoker’s lines” around the mouth.
Because Plasma Pen MD can target very specific areas of concern, your provider may discuss combining with other aesthetic treatments.
When will I see results?
Results can be seen immediately after the treatment and beyond. You will see continued improvements for up to 6 months after your Plasma Pen procedure.
Who is a candidate for Plasma Pen MD?
Most patients are candidates for Plasma Pen MD treatment, so long as they are generally healthy. Some skin types may be at risk of post procedure pigmentation issues, so it is important to develop a personalized treatment plan during a complimentary consultation with one of our licensed providers.
What post care is required with the treatment?
Every patient will receive specially formulated post-care products and instructions to keep the area dry to help with the healing process. It is important to use sun protection long after treatment.
How Much Does the Plasma Pen Treatment Cost?
Costs will vary based on the specific treatment needed and the individual needs of the patient. All costs as well as any possible financing options will be discussed prior to treatment during a complimentary consultation at Radiance Medspa.
Does the Treatment Hurt?
During the treatment, you may experience quick zaps, and/or tingling but for the most part, you will feel little to nothing as a result of your skin being numbed prior to the procedure using a topical numbing cream. After the treatment, your skin will feel tight and warm, like a sunburn.
What should I expect from my Plasma Pen MD Treatment?
Because the plasma device creates an instant wound on the skin, small scabs will form that can take 5-10 days to fall off. The scabs are a natural and protective barrier to the healing and rejuvenating process taking place below. Your face may appear red and inflamed for a week after your treatment. However, downtime is minimal, and you may return to work the day after your procedure. While the skin heals, you may experience redness, swelling, flaking, and/or scabbing. Over the counter medication may be used to decrease post-treatment discomfort.
How is the Plasma Pen MD Different from Other Plasma Pens?
Not all plasma devices are created equal. The experts at Radiance Medspa, using their medical and bio-engineering backgrounds, chose the Plasma Pen MD for their patients because of its unmatched precision, multiple years of development and testing, and industry-leading results.
The Plasma Pen MD is FDA-approved and features a low-frequency wavelength emission that allows for more precise application and a reduced healing time for patients. Other devices don’t come close to producing the ease of use and versatility of treatment that the Plasma Pen MD offers. Our providers can utilize the controlled output to your benefit, varying the treatment technique from light to aggressive, helping you effectively reach your skin goals.
