The holidays are hectic. With all the craziness that you deal with, you deserve to do something for yourself this year. CoolSculpting at our Tampa-area practice is a great way to treat yourself to the gift of a smoother looking body and the added self-confidence it brings.
How does CoolSculpting work?
CoolSculpting uses a process called cryolipolysis, which was developed by 2 Harvard scientists. They discovered that fat cells are more vulnerable to cold temperatures than other tissue. They used this information to test the theory that if fat cells absorb cold energy, they will die and be flushed out of the body, leaving the surrounding tissue unharmed. CoolSculpting is now FDA-approved to treat localized pockets of fat on both men and women.
What areas can be treated with CoolSculpting?
CoolSculpting can target stubborn fat on areas like the abdomen, flanks, hips, back (bra fat), thighs, arms, and chin. We now offer DualSculpting, which means we can treat two areas at once, so you can get in and out of our office in half the time. If you have more than 2 areas of concern, we can discuss how to best structure a treatment plan. You may want to focus on different areas in separate sessions.
When is the best time to start treatment?
As the new year rapidly approaches, now is a great time to schedule a CoolSculpting session for a few reasons. First, the new year is often great motivation to make a positive change in your life. For many of our patients, CoolSculpting is good incentive to stick to a healthy lifestyle. For example, once you see your new shape, you may be more motivated to stay active and maintain a healthy diet so you can make the most of your CoolSculpting investment.
Another reason why this is the perfect time to start treatment is because CoolSculpting takes a few months to fully work—it is a gradual process. Though many patients are happy with their results after one treatment, some patients schedule multiple sessions for optimal results. Either way, you will be ready to show off your new slimmed down contours during the holiday season and in spring as the weather starts to warm up.
How many pounds can I drop with CoolSculpting?
Although CoolSculpting will help you shed some fat, most patients do not see any major changes on the scale. This isn’t intended to be a weight loss solution. In fact, good candidates should already be close to their goal weight. CoolSculpting is instead meant to help get rid of problem areas that are resistant to diet and exercise. If you are someone who likes to see things in terms of numbers, compare before and after measurements in inches instead of pounds.
