Skin Rejuvenation Backed by Science
SkinPen® Microneedling | Belleair Bluffs, FL
Looking for a natural way to refresh your skin and improve tone, texture, and firmness? SkinPen® is the first FDA-cleared microneedling device and remains one of the most trusted non-laser skin treatments available. By using your body’s own healing power, SkinPen helps reduce the look of fine lines, scars, and rough patches—leaving your skin smoother, firmer, and more radiant.
Why Choose SkinPen® Microneedling?
Unlike laser-based treatments, SkinPen® uses a mechanical process to stimulate collagen and elastin production. It’s gentle, effective, and adaptable for many skin types and concerns—making it an ideal choice for clients who want real results without extended downtime.
Key Benefits of SkinPen®:
- Collagen-Boosting – Triggers the skin’s natural repair process.
- Gentle but Effective – Minimal irritation, safe for all skin tones.
- Customizable – Tailored to your skin’s needs and sensitivity.
- Treats Multiple Concerns – From scarring to texture and laxity.
- No Heat, No Laser – Suitable even for delicate or reactive skin.
What Skin Concerns Can SkinPen® Address?
- Acne scars and other facial scarring
- Enlarged pores and uneven skin tone
- Fine lines and mild wrinkles
- Rough or crepey skin
- General dullness or lack of glow
What to Expect for Acne Scars, Pores, and Texture
SkinPen can help soften the appearance of acne scars, surgical scars, enlarged-looking pores, and uneven texture by encouraging new collagen formation. Results are gradual and usually build over a series of treatments. Shallow texture concerns may improve more quickly, while deeper or tethered scars may require multiple sessions or a combination plan.
Radiance Medspa may recommend SkinPen alone or combine it with Vivace RF Microneedling, MOXI, peels, medical-grade skincare, or another treatment depending on scar type, skin tone, sensitivity, and goals.
Who Is a Good Candidate for SkinPen Microneedling?
SkinPen Microneedling may be a good fit if you want a natural collagen-stimulating treatment for rough texture, enlarged pores, fine lines, mild wrinkles, acne scars, surgical scars, dullness, crepiness, and overall skin quality. Because SkinPen does not use laser energy or heat, it can be a helpful option for patients who want skin renewal with minimal downtime and broad skin-tone compatibility.
SkinPen may not be the best first choice if your main concern is significant skin laxity, deep folds, volume loss, brown spots, redness, rosacea, active acne, or advanced sun damage. During your consultation, Radiance Medspa will determine whether SkinPen, Vivace RF Microneedling, MOXI, BBL HERO, Botox, Juvederm fillers, medical-grade skincare, or a combination plan is the better fit.
How It Works
SkinPen® works by creating thousands of tiny micro-injuries across the skin’s surface using fine, medical-grade needles. These micro-channels activate the body’s healing response, leading to the production of new collagen and elastin—essential building blocks for firm, youthful-looking skin.
Because it doesn’t involve light or heat, SkinPen is also a great alternative for those with darker skin tones or sensitivity to laser treatments.
SkinPen vs. Vivace RF Microneedling
SkinPen creates controlled microchannels in the skin to stimulate natural collagen and elastin production without heat or laser energy. It is often chosen for texture, pores, scars, fine lines, and overall skin renewal. Vivace RF Microneedling combines microneedling with radiofrequency energy, making it a stronger option when mild laxity, skin tightening, deeper collagen remodeling, jawline firmness, or neck firmness are major goals.
If your priority is skin renewal without heat, SkinPen may be the better fit. If your priority is tightening plus texture improvement, Vivace may be recommended. Radiance Medspa will help you choose based on your skin tone, scar depth, laxity, downtime preferences, sensitivity, and goals.
How to Prepare for SkinPen Microneedling
Before treatment, avoid tanning, intentional sun exposure, and self-tanner. Tell your provider if you have active acne, cold sores, open skin, recent sunburn, recent laser treatments, recent chemical peels, recent filler or Botox, pregnancy, a history of keloids or poor wound healing, or medications that affect healing.
Your provider may ask you to pause retinoids, exfoliating acids, benzoyl peroxide, scrubs, or other active skincare products before treatment. Arrive with clean skin and no makeup, fragrance, or heavy skincare on the treatment area when possible.
What to Expect During and After Treatment
A topical numbing cream is applied to ensure comfort throughout the 30–60 minute session. Most clients report only mild pricking or tingling sensations.
- Mild redness and sensitivity may occur for 1–2 days.
- Skin often feels tighter and smoother by day three.
- A healthy glow typically appears within the first week.
- Improvements continue over the following months.
Day 0
Skin may look red and feel warm, tight, or sensitive, similar to a sunburn.
Day 1
Redness usually improves. Skin may still feel tender, dry, tight, or slightly swollen.
Days 2–3
Skin may feel dry, rough, or mildly flaky as the renewal process begins. Many patients notice skin feeling tighter or smoother around this time.
Days 3–7
Skin often looks calmer, smoother, and brighter as the surface recovers.
Weeks 4–6
Collagen and elastin remodeling continue, with gradual improvement in texture, pores, scars, fine lines, and overall skin quality.
Series results
A 3–6 treatment series can build more noticeable improvement over time, especially for acne scars, rough texture, and deeper concerns.
After SkinPen, keep the skin clean, calm, and protected. Use only the post-care products recommended by Radiance Medspa for the first 24–48 hours. Avoid makeup until your provider says it is safe, and avoid direct sun exposure, tanning, hot tubs, saunas, hot yoga, heavy sweating, exfoliating scrubs, retinoids, acids, benzoyl peroxide, fragrance, and harsh active skincare while the skin is healing.
Do not pick, scrub, or aggressively exfoliate the treated area. Your provider will explain when to restart your normal medical-grade skincare routine and when to schedule your next treatment.
Recommended Treatment Plan
For optimal results, a series of 3-6 treatments spaced about a month apart is recommended. Many patients notice improvements after the first session, with maximum results developing over six months as collagen production ramps up.
Expected temporary effects may include redness, warmth, tightness, sensitivity, pinpoint bleeding, dryness, roughness, mild swelling, or mild bruising. Less common risks can include prolonged redness, irritation, infection, acne-like breakouts, pigment changes, scabbing, delayed healing, or an unsatisfactory cosmetic outcome.
SkinPen may need to be delayed or adjusted if you have active acne, open wounds, infection, recent sunburn, recent laser or peel treatment, a history of poor wound healing, keloid-prone scarring, pregnancy, or medications that affect healing. Your Radiance Medspa provider will review your skin, health history, medications, recent treatments, current skincare, and treatment goals before recommending treatment.
