What is Juvéderm Volbella?
Volbella is an injectable gel made of hyaluronic acid, which occurs naturally in the body. Because it has a thinner consistency than other fillers, Volbella subtly fills in lines without making them appear larger. The effect is a smooth surface and a natural feel. Volbella adds fullness from below, defining your mouth and creating a level, even lip line.
You will experience minimal downtime from a Volbella treatment, and you can resume normal activities immediately. You may have a bit of swelling, redness, or bruising at the treatment site for few days. Thanks to its special hyaluronic acid formula, Volbella attracts and retains moisture, which means your smoochable lips can last up to a year before a touchup is needed.

Juvederm Volbella Details
1-2 weeks
Results from Juvéderm Ultra Plus XC typically last up to a year.
Consider Blood Thinners
To minimize the likelihood of bruising, the use of blood thinning medications and supplements should be discontinued for 2 weeks before your treatment.
Decrease Alcohol
Avoiding alcohol the evening before your BOTOX treatment and for 4 hours after your treatment will also minimize your chances of bruising.
Avoid Invasive Procedures
Invasive procedures should be avoided before and after your filler appointment to avoid infection. Please avoid any of these for 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after treatment.
Be Healthy
Filler treatments may not be performed if you have an active infection or illness or are being treated for one. All prescribed antibiotics must be completed 2 weeks prior to treatment and any infections or illnesses must be completely resolved before you can safely get Filler.
History of Cold Sores
If you have a history of facial cold sores, please notify us in advance so that we may provide you with a prescription for antiviral medication to start before your treatment.
Remove Makeup and Creams
Please come to your appointment with a clean face – remove all makeup, creams and lotions.
Side Effects
Tenderness and swelling at the injection site after the treatment are common and should resolve within 24-48 hours. Bruising is also common and should resolve within 7-10 days.
Apply Ice
Ice may be applied to the area after Juvéderm Ultra/Ultra Plus/Volbella/Vollure/Volux treatment to help reduce swelling. Ice should not be applied to the area after Juvederm Voluma injections to avoid infection.
Keep Area Clean
Keep the treated area clean and do not apply makeup to the area for 24 hours following your treatment. Refrain from touching your face or allowing anything unclean to come in contact with your face.
Gentle Cleansers
For 48 hours post treatment, use only gentle cleansers, and apply gentle pressure when cleansing the treated area – do not use cleaning tools (i.e., Clarisonic) or facial scrubs on the area.
Avoid Heat / Exercise
For 24 hours after your treatment, avoid straining, heavy lifting, vigorous exercise and all forms of heat such as hot tubs, saunas, sun exposure and tanning beds.
Results
Filler results can last from 8 to 24 months, depending on the type and amount of Filler injected. To maintain best results, the area should be retreated as recommended by your provider and/or as soon as you notice lines and wrinkles are starting to reappear in the treated area.

What happens during a Volbella treatment?
Prior to any treatment, we meet individually with each patient to assess needs and goals.
First, we prep the area to be treated with a topical anesthetic.
During a Volbella treatment, our professional staff will strategically inject Volbella product into your lip or under-eye area with an ultra-fine needle. Only doctors, physician assistants and nurse practitioners can perform injections in Florida.
Volbella contains lidocaine, so you should not feel discomfort during treatment, which will take about 15 minutes.
Based on your goals, we may perform injections of other products, such as BOTOX, Juvéderm Ultra XC, or Juvéderm Voluma, during the same treatment.

We use a topical numbing cream prior to treatment, and Volbella contains lidocaine, so you should not have any discomfort during treatment. You will feel only a mild pricking sensation.
There is minimal downtime from a Volbella treatment, and you can return to normal activities immediately.
You may experience slight swelling, redness or bruising at the injection site for a few days following treatment.
