The CoolPeel® is a groundbreaking, modern approach to safely, and comfortably, deliver the benefits of a traditional fractional CO2 laser resurfacing treatment without the downtime. By targeting only, the superficial layer of skin tissue, CoolPeel® vaporizes damaged skin, revealing younger and healthier-looking skin.
What is CoolPeel?
CO2 lasers have long been the gold standard in treating wrinkles, age spots, acne scars, and other blemishes. Traditional CO2 treatments have long been associated with considerable downtime. However, the innovation, control, and precision of the CoolPeel® can deliver a fractional ablative treatment without causing thermal damage to the surrounding skin. Allowing you to get the beautiful resurfacing benefits without the downtime or risk.
CoolPeel®, unlike traditional CO2 lasers delivers a super short pulse that creates a controlled injury without heating up the skin, in addition to a unique “spray” pattern that shorts the overall treatment time. This results in less flaking, redness and peeling afterward.

You will start noticing improvements after one week. Full results will be seen 90 days after the last CoolPeel® treatment.
Avoid Sun
Avoid direct sun and all forms of tanning (including self-tanner or spray tans) on the treatment area for 2 weeks before and after your treatment.
Discontinue Exfoliants
Discontinue Retin-A, Glycolics, Alpha or Beta Hydroxy Acids, and exfoliants for one week prior to each treatment. Discontinue Accutane (and any isotretinoin products) for 12 months prior.
Cold Sores
If your face will be treated and you have a history of facial cold sores, please notify us in advance so that we may provide you with a prescription for antiviral medication to start before your treatment. The CO2 treatment cannot be performed on your face if you have an active cold sore.
Hydrate Skin
Best results are achieved when the skin is well hydrated at the time of treatment. For this reason, use these products for 14 days prior to treatment: Alastin Regenerating Skin Nectar, Alastin Silk Shield Mineral SPF 30
Hyperpigmentation
For patients who may have an increased risk of (PIH) post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation post treatment, use the following products for 14 days prior to treatment: iS Clinical Brightening Complex and Alastin Silk Shield Mineral SPF 30
Be Healthy
It is important that you are in good health at the time of your treatment to ensure your body has a healthy healing response after the treatment. Healthy healing is important for your safety (i.e. to minimize infection) and to ensure good results.
Results + Follow Ups
It is important to wait at least 4 weeks after a CO2 treatment and until any redness, swelling and/or peeling have completely resolved before getting other treatments on the same area. Anticipate it taking 3-6 months after your final CO2 treatment to see complete results.
Clean Skin
Please come to your appointment with clean skin – remove all makeup, creams and lotions.
Dress Comfortably
Please dress so that you may comfortably and modestly expose the treatment area, when applicable (i.e. chest).
Medications
If antiviral medication was prescribed for you, please make sure to continue to take as directed. Acetaminophen/Tylenol may be taken if needed to relieve any discomfort. NSAIDS and anti-inflammatories, should not be used for 1-week post treatment.
No Ice
Do not apply ice or any type of cooling to the area post treatment.
Products to Use
The products below should be used following your treatment: Alastin Regenerative Skin Nectar, Alastin Ultra Calm Cleansing Cream, Alastin Ultra Light Moisturizer with TriHex Technology, Alastin Silk Shield All Mineral SPF 30, and Alastin Soothe and Protect Recovery Balm.
Be Gentle
Avoid using exfoliants, retinols, alpha or beta hydroxy acids, or topical Vitamin C products for at least a week after the treatment. Do not use any mechanical cleaning devices (i.e., Clarisonic), facial scrubs or washcloths on the treated area - only wash the area with your hands – for at least a week.
Avoid Sun Exposure
Avoid direct sun exposure and wear a large-brimmed hat and minimum 35 SPF for at least 2 weeks post-treatment. This is important to ensure proper healing and to minimize chances of scarring.
Avoid Heat / Exercise
Avoid heat, saunas, hot tubs, and sweaty activity; this includes exercise of any kind.
Keep Clean
Do not apply makeup to the treated area and keep it as clean as possible until any “sandpapery” skin, scabs, or peeling have resolved. Do not allow anything unclean to come in contact with the treated skin - this includes touching the skin with unclean hands. Tinted sunblock may safely be used.
Peeling and Flaking
Peeling and flaking after treatment are normal. Allow the skin to flake off naturally and do not rub, pick, or peel the skin off as it heals. This may result in scarring and infection.
Schedule Follow Ups
Please schedule your follow-up appointment 90 days after your final treatment to assess results and determine whether additional treatments are needed.

What is CoolPeel®?
CoolPeel® is a modern approach to fractional skin resurfacing. Technology has continued to advance with Fractional Resurfacing to target only a fraction of the skin with micro-beams that will vaporize the tissue in microscopic columns, leaving bridges of healthy tissue surrounding each injury to accelerate the healing process. Further advancements have been made to create a spray distribution of those micro-columns to create a more natural-looking appearance during the recovery period. What Makes CoolPeel® different?
Many CO2 treatments are often accompanied by considerable downtime and risk while damaged skin heals.
Attempts have been made over the years to improve the side effects of CO2 treatments but only the CoolPeel® can deliver a fractional ablative treatment without the downtime. This means there is minimal risk of hyper-pigmentation, demarcation, or infection, unlike other, traditional CO2 treatments.
What is included in the price of treatment?
We believe PRP and medical grade skin care are integral and critical to the results of the treatment, therefore both PRP and a post care kit is included in the price of a single treatment, or a series. At the time of service, PRP will be applied last to accelerate healing using your body’s own growth factors. Once home and at the appropriate time, you may begin to use the medical grade skin to ensure healing and great results.
How Soon Will I See Results?
You will start noticing improvements after one week. Texture issues, sun damage, age spots, pigmentation and overall dullness will improve dramatically after about a week. Full results will be seen 90 days after the last CoolPeel® treatment.
How Does the CoolPeel® Work?

What is the Recovery Time for CoolPeel®?
One of the main benefits of a CoolPeel®, is that there is minimal downtime. You should expect to be a little red, as if you have a sunburn, for a day, or two, but nothing should prevent you from returning to your normal daily activities, excluding those that expose your skin to the sun. Your skin may feel dry and scaly as it heals so it is important to keep the skin hydrated.
Who is a Good Candidate for a CoolPeel®?
You are! A good candidate for a CoolPeel® is anyone looking to reduce the appearance of fine lines and sun damage, minimize pores and improve skin texture. Your skin will look healthier revealing a younger you inside.
Does CoolPeel® Hurt?
During the fractional laser resurfacing treatment, you can expect to feel warm sensations in some areas but for the most part, you will feel little to nothing as a result of your skin being numbed prior to the procedure using a topical numbing cream. After the treatment, your skin will feel tight and warm.
Can CoolPeel® be Used to Tighten the Skin?
Some incidental skin tightening comes with most lasers, however, our Advanced Practice Registered Nurses, APRNs, will often recommend combing the treatment with Vivace RF Microneedling for optimal results.
What Areas can I Treat with CoolPeel®?
CoolPeel® can be used to smooth, improve, and resurface the skin on nearly any area of the face or body, with the face, neck, chest, and hands being some of the most popular.
When can I Return to My Skincare Routine?
Your CoolPeel® treatment comes with a post care kit to ensure your skin is properly protected and nourished after your procedure. These products are required to be used for a minimum of 14 days following your CoolPeel®. After two weeks, it is safe to exfoliate the skin. Many patients choose to get a Hydrafacial treatment to help exfoliate between treatments.
