What is VIVACE™?
VIVACE™ combines Microneedling, Radiofrequency, and PRP into one treatment.
Micro-needling works by making thousands of tiny micro-punctures in the surface of the skin to promote healing through new collagen and elastin production. This well-established and very popular treatment has now moved into the next generation with VIVACE™, which combines the benefits of Microneedling with Radio Frequency (RF).
Radio Frequency (RF) is a treatment that delivers heat to the lower (dermal) layers of the skin to stimulate the production of new collagen and elastin in the deeper skin layers. The new collagen and elastin that is generated results in new, thicker, tighter skin.
PRP is added as a boost at the end of the treatment to help accelerate healing and maximize your results. Vivace™ PRP is a process that uses your own growth factors, derived from a quick and easy blood draw, to nourish your skin by applying your body’s own plasma, rich with growth factors, to the surface of your skin. By applying the PRP immediately after the VIVACE™ treatment, the PRP is absorbed deep into the skin where it boosts collagen production at many levels.
How does VIVACE™ work?
Before the VIVACE™ treatment is administered, we apply a special topical numbing cream to the skin to minimize any discomfort. If PRP is scheduled as part of the procedure, your blood is drawn while you wait for the topical numbing cream to take effect. Your blood is then spun in a centrifuge to prepare the PRP for use. Once the skin is suitably numb (usually an hour), the VIVACE™ treatment is started. The VIVACE™ system gently and precisely places micro needles into the skin and then simultaneously delivers RadioFrequency (RF) energy through the needles into the skin. The RF energy spreads warmth throughout the treatment area and deep throughout the skin layers. This warmth stimulates the production of new collagen elastin in the area, which begins immediately and will continue for months following the procedure. Finally, your PRP, full of growth factors, is applied topically to the treatment area, accelerating healing and providing a final boost to the collagen regeneration that follows.
Real Patients. Real Results.
Does the Treatment Hurt?
During a VIVACE™ treatment, you can expect to feel prickly, warm sensations in some areas but for the most part, you will feel little to nothing as a result of your skin being numbed prior to the procedure using a topical numbing cream. After the treatment, your skin will feel tight and warm. There is no residual discomfort or pain following the treatment.
Is there Downtime after VIVACE™?
There is minimal downtime after a VIVACE™ treatment. You should expect your face to look and feel like you have a mild sunburn for a few hours after the treatment. In some cases, areas of mild swelling will occur after the treatment and can even appear the following day. This is a normal response by the body and indicates healing and collagen remodeling is taking place. You should plan to keep your skin as clean as possible and should not apply makeup on the skin for 24 hours following treatment.
How Soon Will I See Results?
VIVACE™ treatments are done in a series of 3, spaced one month apart. New collagen and elastin will begin to form immediately after each treatment and the stimulating effects of the micro-channels, the radio frequency, and the PRP together will give the skin an immediate glow. The production of new collagen and elastin will continue for up to 6 months following each treatment. It is important to complete a series of at least 3 VIVACE™ treatments to get optimal results.
Can VIVACE™ help with texture and pigment?
Some incidental improvements will occur, however, our Advanced Practice Registered Nurses, APRNs, will often recommend combing the Vivace™ Treatment with a a laser such as CoolPeel, for more optimal texture and pigment results.
How long will results from VIVACE™ last?
Results from this synergistic combination of treatments can last for years. Your body will continue the aging process and you can renew and rejuvenate your skin with another series of VIVACE™ treatments whenever you notice the effects of time. Taking good care of your skin after your VIVACE™ treatment is critically important for making the results last. The use of high-quality medical grade skin care on your skin and keeping your skin out of direct sun are two of the best practices you can follow for maintaining your new, beautiful skin after VIVACE™. Most patients will enjoy the results of this type of treatment for at least 1-2 years before they may want to repeat it again.
How many VIVACE™ skin tightening treatments will I need?
